This Marquette Rail freight train prepares to depart their yard in Manistee, Michigan, June 28, 2015. Locomotive #2040 is a GP38-2. It is former Union Pacific and is still in UP colors. Marquette owns trackage between Grand Rapids, Ludington, and Manistee. They purchased these tracks from CSX in 2005. This trip was for going to Ludington, MI celebrating 25 years since a great time there as kids (with mom/sisters July 1990)! Fittingly #2040 represent 25 years in the future from 2015! This was my first trip seeing Marquette Rail. Fittingly it has the classic MQT logo on the nose of MQT GP38-2 #2040. It is in UP colors, followed by a repainted in yellow/blue MQT GP38-2 2041, MQT GP10 3000 and MQT SD40-2 #3406! This trip was for going to Ludington, MI celebrating 25 years since a great time there as kids (with mom/sisters July 1990)! Fittingly #2040 represent 25 years in the future from 2015!
