Album Info:My friend "Mazon" and I did our own trip at the end of June and beginning of July to catch CP 2816 and the return "Final Spike" steam train heading back to Canada from Mexico! Since "Mazon" did not see CP 2816 when I went to MN/WI/IL with "Railfan" Gary in May 2024, he wanted to make it up to me! This is because he travelled by Amtrak to Wisconsin to see his dad instead of going with us, seeing his dad and CP 2816! Those photos in album titled “CP 2816 'Final Spike' steam train trip!” He made it up to me! He got CP 2816 with me and I got to catch the "Final Spike" steam tour on two separate trips! Going south in May and Returning in July 2024! YES!!!! Here is the link for the May 2024 trip with "Railfan" Gary Sample catching CP 2816 on its southbound voyage: https://www.rrpicturearchives.net/archiveThumbs.aspx?id=200142

Untitled
Title:  Untitled
Description:  This is Diane at our last (and best) Airbnb place! It is actually Red Roof Stables and Farm that I booked through Airbnb! About a half mile from the CPKC (ex IC&E) mainline. A nice place, but we had to wait for Mazon to get up! When I was packing stuff into the rental, Mazon said "I hear a steam train!!!!" I didn't believe him, but sure enough we had to catch up to the "Final Spike" steam train! We had to go about 40 miles to get ahead of it at Bellevue, IA! (Canon AE-1 Program 35mm camera, Fuji C200 print film)
